SUPPORT FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES
Mindstars support the children and families of North Tyneside.
We support their mental health and wellbeing to give them the empowered futures they deserve.
Life can become difficult for our children, and pressures can build up, negatively impacting mood, friendships and family life.
When this happens, and they feel the pressure, we can help them to navigate through life’s difficult challenges and provide the tools and strategies they need to thrive.
Through our safe, confidential and inclusive services, our professional, qualified and dedicated team, provide support for the hearts, tummies and minds of children and families in our community.
Here's how we do it...
Children aged 6-11
We believe NO child should have to reach crisis point before accessing vital mental health support.
Our NEW Intervention Programme has been developed to support the many children and families who all too often have nowhere else to turn. 10 weeks of professional psychoeducation, development of My Mind Toolkit suited to each child's needs, and full parent and carer support and advice throughout.
At present, this is available for residents of North Tyneside, with an aim of branching this support out in the North East.
The children's programme will provide weekly group sessions which include psychoeducation, tools, techniques and strategies for managing and maintaining a healthy and resilient mind.
Parents & Carers
The parent and Carer programme will provide group sessions to support the implementation of strategies at home, whilst gaining peer support.
Each child will leave with their own "My Mind Toolkit" developed throughout the programme. This tool will enable children to understand what their own personal coping strategies are and enable them to continue to implement these throughout their lives.
Our aim: To provide children with the skills they need to overcome barriers and live more fulfilling lives.
Parents and Carers will leave with a full course book, improved mental health education and understanding of their children's own strategies for managing their wellbeing.
Our aim: To provide parents and carers with the skills they need to help their children and their families to overcome barriers.
Our mental health and wellbeing resources are designed for children, families, and schools. They help to open up the conversation of Mental Health, educating children, parents and guardians.
At our Star Club, based in North Shields, children have the opportunity to play, learn and thrive in a creative environment, whilst having lots of fun. We run holiday camps, clubs and special events all year round.
